How to use SnapperWorks

Customize your projects with SnapperWorks

A quick guide to the SnapperWorks program. Watch the video on how to build your own machine safety. It is so easy that anyone can do it.

How to use SnapperWorks

Step by step!

SnapperWorks component selection bar

Select a product from the ribbon bar, place it on the drawing area - alone or snap it to an existing component, rotate it, stretch it. For instance, you can select any mesh wall wanted and just draw it as a single panel or stretch it for as long length as you need. The software will then select the required panels and accessories for that application.

The key functionality of SnapperWorks is the ease of use.

Importing AutoCAD files

You can import an AutoCAD drawing (dwg or dxf) to use as a reference when you are doing the design. This can be helpful for illustrating machine guards protecting assets from the machining area. It could also be useful presenting an overview of storage cages in a basement or attic.

Creating your own room

If you can't use a drawing, but still need to illustrate your solution in a room, you can draw walls, doors, windows and pillars to represent the boundaries of the design. You can easily select your scale of your own virtual area and then insert mesh panels, posts or cable trays to see what you need and how it will fit.

Axelent Cad make products fit together

"Snap" contains the rules of how one component fit into another. If the Snap rules of two components don't match, they can't connect. When two components snap, they might snap at different points, at different angles, all leading to different material in the bill of material.

Ignore the size, Snapper will sort it out

"Stretch" controls different versions of one component - different lengths, widths and heights. You don't have to have one tool for each version of your product - use the stretching rules to select the right version graphically. For example, if you have warehouse racks you want to place partitioning panels on. Just select partitioning net and click once, drag over the whole rack and Snapper will assist you with the recommended panels and accessories

Material list in Snapper software

All changes you do in the drawing are automatically updated the bill of materials.

You can add items, text lines or predefined chunks of text. Items required by the drawing cannot be removed, but the quantity can be adjusted.

When you are done with designing and ready to give your customer an offer, just click on the offer button you will then get a printout of the offer along with a top-view drawing of the solution. You can also send the offer to your order management system by clicking the export button.

View the finished product in 3D

Even if designing is easier and more efficient in a 2D environment, it sometimes is of interest to be able to inspect the solution in 3D. In Snapper you draw everything in a 2D environment and whenever you want to, you can see the result in a 3D view. You could also export the drawing as a STEP file, which can be used in your own 3D Cad software (for example, Solidworks). This is a great way of getting an idea how the finished product would look, or just to verify if you have the correct panels, color, cable tray suspension or other accessories.
